This weekend I did my very first giant refurbish project and I have to say it was really fun!
I love the transformation process. This is one out of 3 pieces of furniture that my in-laws gave us.
Here is the before (along with the lovely lawn mower)
I had actually already removed all the doors and glass that were on this bookshelf before I took the picture. There were a lot of things that had to be removed.

After priming (pain in the butt by the way) and then painting, here is the after:

I just realized that I didn’t take a picture with this in the context of our living room so that I could show how it goes with the decor, but now my camer battery is dead so I’ll just have to leave it out for now :(
But I did take a close up to show the distressing that I did to make it look old and antique like. I think it turned out pretty good.

And then of course I was anxious to see what it would look like with a bunch of “stuff” in it.
Pretty much nothing that I put on here is going to stay there, but it was fun running around my housing trying to find things to put in it just for a nice picture. What is actually going to go here are bunch of rustic, old country americana type decorations…which I still have to purchase because I don’t have any of it yet lol
But this is the kind of stuff I’m talking about:

It won’t all be american flags, but I think I want to stick with those colors, and everything will be this country rustic style.

I have a few other projects that I worked on this weekend as well, but those will come in a later post.
And now I will leave you with a nerdy picture of Chris and I standing in front of my proud work haha!
