>I don’t know if you are anything like me and have this problem, but coming up for what to have for dinner has been somewhat tough for me. I can never think of what to make and it drives me crazy! It’s probably due mostly to not knowing what I’m in the mood for because it changes so much.
Sometimes I’ll spend a good hour or so on allrecipes.com, which is a great recipe website, but I’ve used it so much that I’ve become a little tired of it.
Chris and I are also trying to buy all our groceries in one trip instead of going every day just to buy what we need for that days meals, which is what we’ve done for a long time. I’m tired of that too :) So for this to happen, meal planning must be involved.

A few months ago, I received a magazine in the mail and wasn’t sure why I was getting it. I then found out that my husband’s sweet sweet grandmother had bought a subscription for me. It’s the Taste of Home magazine.

I read the magazines and enjoyed them, but then just kind of put them aside for a while.
Just recently, I got the brilliant idea to cut out all of the delicious recipes that Chris and I would eat and actually USE them. Go figure, I know. There are at least 40 to 50 if not more, recipes in each magazine.

Now I just pick the recipes I want to make for that week, go to the store and buy all the ingredients in one trip. It also helps to know what you already have on hand. A lot of times I will have most of the ingredients and I’ll just need a couple of them to make the dishes. This saves a lot of money too.
So if you are in a rut when it comes to meals, I highly recommend getting a subscription to any recipe/cooking magazine of your choosing.
One thing I love about Taste of Home magazine (and I’m pretty sure most recipes magazines do this as well) is that each month they give you recipes that go along with that time of year. Like light salads and pastas during the summer and heavy stews and meats during the winter.
And not to mention the plethora of different desserts and goodies they have in there!

Those grandmas sure know what they’re doing ;)
